THIS RECIPE WILL MAKE YOU LOVE GREEN BELL PEPPER

When it comes to food, Tee and i have similar taste (except italian, can u believe this guy?), it was very surprising in the beginning, guess we are a perfect match huh? Spinach is the favorite green for both us, and we avoid eating bell peppers. But i know its super healthy and i wanted to find a recipe that will match our palate. I got this recipe from one of my friends(thanks, Pri!) and we both have been in love with it ever since.

Green Bell Pepper Rice Pilaf (Serves 2)
Ingredients
Green Bell Pepper - 3
Dried Red Chilies - 3 (you can add more or less to make it hot or mild)
Bengal gram/Channa dal - 2 tablespoons
Peppercorns - 5-6
Cooking oil - 3 tablespoons
Salt - add to your taste
1 cup of white rice (cooked and ready to serve)

Prepping the spices
In a medium hot frying pan, add the bengal gram, peppercorns and dried red chili and fry until the bengal gram turns golden brown. Turn off the heat and let it cool down. Once they reach room temperature, grind them to a slightly coarse powder.

Prepping the bell peppers
Prep the bell peppers. You will have to remove the core, and the seeds. Cut them into tiny cubes or use a food processor.

Steps
1. In a medium hot frying pan, add cooking oil. 2. Once oil is slightly hot, add the bell peppers. 3. You can add onions as well at this time, i skipped that. 4. Cook for 3-5 minutes, don't let it cook for longer, as it will turn mushy. 5. Add salt, 2 tablespoons of the prepared spices powder and mix well. 6. Turn off the heat. 7. Mix this with your cooked rice. Rice pilaf is ready to serve.

Now we eat the green bell peppers all the time, i am glad i have one more green recipe we both love. Check out the spicy green mushroom for another easy green recipe. Time to grab some green bell peppers on your next trip to the grocery store. xo, Hems
