FOLLOW ME AROUND THE PIKE PLACE MARKET

I have been in Seattle for more than a year now and although i still have a lot to explore in this city, i guess its safe to say that i am a local now. Today's post is about one of the Seattle's famous tourist attractions. It's the Pike Place Market, one of the country's oldest farmers' markets.

Pike place market is the home for lot of small business owners, and local farmers who sell fresh fruits(i had the tastiest pear ever, and of course the rainier cherries), flowers, and some amazingly fresh seafood. There is the world famous fish market, where fishmongers sing and toss fishes back and forth(mimicked as flying fish), entertaining the crowd while doing business. Although market's usually crowded with tourists, lots of locals regularly visit the market to buy fresh seafood and fruits or veggies.

DRESSING UP THE TRADITIONAL WAY: BLACK & PINK ANARKALI OOTD

Hope you all had a fun weekend. We did some fun activity with friends this weekend, white water rafting! We did few rapids, hit a rock, a friend fell out from the raft into the rapids, Tee rescued him like a hero (True story!), it was FUN. Loving summer so far, a relaxing road trip, vacation in Florida, and now some adventure in WA. Coming to the vacation in the Sunshine state, today's post was shot there. We had a party at my SIL's place with friends and family. It was an indian style party with some yum food. Since i don't get to go ethnic often, i grabbed this opportunity and went all out indian style.

I love kurta churidhaar, i spent my four years at college wearing sawlar kameez (not like this one, very simple ones) everyday. I had a huge collection, in various colors and fabrics(cotton is my most favorite, great for Indian weather), now all that sits at home in India inside the closed doors. So you can guess how excited i would have been to go ethnic in a bright indian outfit.

FOLLOW ME AROUND THE OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK: VOL. 2

I am back with the rest of the pictures from our road trip to Olympic national park. If you haven't already, go check out the first day pictures here, now onto day 2 & 3. Second day was spent relaxing on the beach(ruby beach), driving around the Hoh rain forest, spotting a big cedar tree, hiking around the hall of mosses trail in the rain forest, and eating some good food with a view of the ocean at the Kalaloch lodge.

FOLLOW ME AROUND THE OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK: VOL. 1

I am back to the scenic pacific north west and with a post on few glimpses of its scenic beauty. Before i left on my vacation, we went on a road trip(not camping) to the Olympic National Park, during the july 4th long weekend. The national park is about 3-4 hours drive from Seattle, it has scenic views, camping grounds all around (perfect time of the year to go camping), hiking trails, beaches, beautiful falls, rain forest, etc. I shared few pictures on the Instagram during our trip. Thought i would share some more here on the blog. Here's some pics from our first day there through our camera and iPhone's lens.
The fun begins.
Tacoma Narrows Bridge, majestic!

OPENING MY BIRCHBOX : JUNE EDITION

I recently subscribed to Birchbox (monthly subscription to sample size makeup and skin care products), and got my first box in june. The july's box will be waiting for me at home when i head back from Florida, can't wait. I don't do much makeup,  but i do try some now and then. I signed up with birchbox to begin experimenting with some skincare and makeup products without spending a whole lot of money on full size products which might end up not right for me. I thought i would do a post on the products i receive every month, and thus we have a new monthly series in AGT  "Opening my Birchbox".
The packaging was really good and trendy. Loved the pink exterior and inside the delicate covering in orange was a nice touch. There was a card with the list of products, its full size price and a short description of each product.

STORY OF MY OUTFIT : BLACK & GRAY WITH A HINT OF COLOR

Hola from Florida! I am in the sunshine state partly for my summer vacation and partly for a lot of things which i will tell you guys later. Though the vacation is going great for me, it didn't go good for AGT, as i was not posting for the past few days. I always post minimum two posts every week, but i missed one last week, which i feel very bad about, because consistency is the key when its comes to blogging. Sorry guys, i lost my macbook's charger on my flight, and there was no mac charger at my SIL's (Tee's sis) place where i am staying. All my pictures were in the mac, and i had the chance to buy a new one only yesterday, and finally ready to post today!
Black is an universally flattering color on, be it men or women. Children and babies are exception here, because i think there is no place for fashion or trend there, just innocence and cuteness(thats just me, go fashionable kids!). Though white is my most favorite when it comes to clothes, black is something i don't think twice before wearing, it makes me look bright instantly. So against all the beautiful summer colors, today's post i am going for a black outfit with a mix of gray and pops of color(it is summer after all!). Except the rings & the watch, everything in this outfit is from India, some bought few years ago. Earrings were a b'day gift for me from a good friend (hello, Jai!) when we were doing our bachelors degree in college.

CURRY IN A HURRY - THAI RED CURRY

Lately i am trying my hand at cooking asian food, like this simple stir fried noodles that i am making often, and also various thai curries. I am no expert to make everything from scratch, so i take the help of store bought items now and then especially when trying a new cuisine. Its all trial and error, but once it clicks, i just stick to them. One such grocery store find for thai curries is Trader Joe's Thai Red Curry sauce. Their yellow curry sauce is equally good too. It has the perfect flavor, and the curry is ready in minutes, hence the title of the post!

ISLANDS OF THE PACIFIC NORTH WEST : ORCAS ISLAND

On the first day of summer, I was on a ferry to see one of the islands of the pacific north west. There are quite a few islands around here, and we chose orcas because we were behind schedule to board the ferry to an other island we were actually planning to see. When life gives you lemons right? It was my first ferry ride here in WA, and the first one ever in which you can take your car with you.
I was at the open deck for the whole ride(except the last 10 minutes maybe), it was freezing cold, and i was not wearing a jacket (check out my outfit) but i didn't mind, the view was worth it. Orcas island was beautiful with amazing views, quaint little town, docks, & of course the beaches. Here are some pictures from our trip.
